Wengen (1’274 m altitude) is a car-free, traditional alpine resort located on a sheltered, sun-soaked terrace, 400 metres above the picturesque Lauterbrunnen Valley. Since 1893, Wengen has been easily accessible from Interlaken/Lauterbrunnen with the historic Wengernalp Railway. The beautiful surrounding scenery was declared a UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site in 2001 and the impressive vista of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau peaks has played an important role in European art and literature. The area offers a wide range of outdoors activities such as hiking and superb skiing in the Jungfrau region. It also provides for an ideal environment to relax and work at the same time.

Wengen has ca. 1’500 inhabitants and nearly thirty hotels. Services available include: restaurants, doctor, dentist, shopping, bank, swimming pool, cinema, church, taxi, childcare, etc. The top events are the international ski worldcup race “Lauberhorn” and the Jungfrau Marathon. The “Schlosseck” is at 15 minutes walking distance from Wengen railway station.
